Choom Daze

A new book is due out next month from one of the associate editors at the Washington Compost that, based on lavisciouly gushing advance reviews by people of whom we’ve never heard, apparently does a quite fine job romantically chronicling President Lame Duck’s strange, illusory, left-leaning life.  In particular and by its timing it is clearly intended to be a counter to the rightful claims that Romney’s high school years pale in comparison to BO’s history of adolescent and young adult drug abuse, not to mention an attempt to recapture the fascination of the American people pre-election 2008.  Because it so blatantly attempts to convince us that his high school “choom” daze (so severe that his yearbook entry includes a thanks to his drug dealer, not his mother or grandmother) really just makes him “cooler” than the rest of us, we thought it might be helpful to point out the realities of going through high school stoned.

From Science And Management of Addictions:

There are many ways that psychoactive substances can alter or damage the development of the adolescent brain. Firstly, psychoactive substances often target and alter function of neurotransmitters, the chemical messengers that allow nerves to communicate at their junctions. Interference with neurotransmitters can directly damage fragile developing neural connections. Secondly, use of these substances alters perception and may interfere with the developing perceptual skills. And finally, the habits and choices associated with the use of drugs and alcohol slowly become ingrained in the wiring of the brain. Repeated action becomes habit and the habits of thought, perception, and reasoning developed in childhood and adolescence can stay with a person throughout his or her lifetime.

Perceptual changes caused by drugs can also have long-term complications for adolescent development, since adolescent perceptive abilities are not fully mature. For example, MRI studies show that adults tend to use the frontal lobes, or logical problem solving, to determine facial expressions while adolescents use the amygdala, an area which normally processes emotions such as fear and worry. It holds true in many studies that where adults use problem solving areas of the brain to perceive the world adolescents use the more primitive areas of the brain more associated with emotions, and self-preservation; it also holds true that adult perception is generally more accurate.

Marijuana, like all drugs, changes perception. And like most drugs, it engenders perception that is fearful, emotional, defensive, and often inaccurate. Though the short term addiction potential of marijuana may be less than other drugs, the long-term impact of chronic marijuana use can be profound. Determining the feelings and motives of other people is necessary to function as an adult in society. If marijuana use is chronic or constant enough to hinder perceptual maturation, an adolescent user may encounter misunderstood failures in school, work, and relationships, which in turn re-enforce the desire to retreat to drugs.

Adolescents and young adults who are heavy users of marijuana are more likely than non-users to have disrupted brain development…..researchers found abnormalities in areas of the brain that interconnect brain regions involved in memory, attention, decision-making, language and executive functioning skills. (Ashtari, Manzar Ph.D., Director of Diffusion Image Analysis and Brain Morphometry Laboratory in the Radiology Department of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Journal reference Manzar Ashtari, Kelly Cervellione, John Cottone, Babk A. Ardekani, Sanjiv Kumra, Diffusion abnormalities in adolescents and young adults with a history of heavy cannabis use. Journal of Psychiatric Research, 2009; 43(3): 189-204 DOI: 10,1016/j.jpsychires.2008.12.002.)

This last little tidbit comes up in article after article; to be fair there appears to be a genetic component that is still being researched.

“We believe there is now enough evidence to inform people that using cannabis could increase their risk of developing a psychotic illness later in life.” (Moore et el. Lancet 370, 319-328, 2007; Nordentoft and Hjorthoj Lancet (307), 293 294, 2007)

The literature really isn’t any different for alcohol or the “blow” in which President Lame Duck also indulged.  Combining them simply makes the problems bigger.

Rather explains a lot, doesn’t it?  Not just about TOTUS’ behaviors and his mindset but that of all liberal progressives who spent too much time during their youth in drug-induced or drunken stupors.  The numbers that show the drug use and abuse of recently-graduated and current high schoolers helps to explain their propensity to avoid what common sense (and the Constitution) calls “personal responsibility”, with all its negative implications.

It sure doesn’t make us feel safe knowing someone like this is supposed to answer the red phone in the middle of the night.

Free Speech Day: Brett Kimberlin

In America, Justice is blind so the rule of law may be applied equally to all.  And except for something like falsely shouting “fire” in a crowded theater, one of this country’s great freedoms is that everyone is free to speak their truth.

It should be a no-brainer, then, when the truth spoken is a matter of public record.

Enter Brett Kimberlin.

Who is Brett Kimberlin, you ask?  He is the man convicted  of bombing Speedway, Indiana long before the phrase “domestic terrorist” entered the American lexicon.

The investigation of the Speedway bombings followed a twisted trail that started with the murder of a housewife near the shadows of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and wound its way to Ohio, Texas, Columbia and back to Indianapolis.

Along the way, detectives found maimed bodies, broken families, strange relationships and international drug smugglers.

The trail ended as it began – with a brutal murder.

On Saturday, July 29, 1978, Julia Scyphers, a 65-year old grandmother, was in her living room chatting with her granddaughters at her small home at 1651 Cunningham Drive, Speedway.

About 3 p.m. a man knocked on her door asking about some items she had displayed at a garage sale.

When Mrs. Scyphers went outside to the garage to show him the items, he slipped a 25-caliber pistol from his black briefcase and shot her once in the back of the head.  She slumped to the floor beside the family car.

A noise, described as the sound of a falling TV tray, drew the attention of her husband, Fred, 68, and he saw a man pulling out of the driveway in a late-model car.

Speedway police were puzzled by the murder.  She had no enemies, they said.

But she did.  Investigators learned her daughter, Sandra Barton, was a close, very close, friend of Brett C. Kimberlin.  The relationship between the pair was complicated by his strange affection for Mrs. Barton’s pre-teen daughter, Debbie.

Investigators learned Debbie accompanied Kimberlin on several long, unsupervised trips, including holidays in Florida, Mexico and Hawaii.

Mrs. Scyphers violently disapproved of Kimberlin’s questionable relationship with Debbie and her mother.  The concerned grandmother arranged for Debbie and her sister, Shari, to leave their mother’s home and move in with her.

Separated from Debbie, Kimberlin threatened suicide.

Note for the record that at the time Brett Kimberlin was 24 years old.

Starting September 1st and over the next 5 days, 8 bombs were set off; one blew off a leg of Vietnam veteran Carl DeLong, who later committed suicide as a result of those injuries.  Carl’s wife, Sandra, was injured as well.

For these terrorizing and ultimately deadly actions, Kimberlin was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison in 1981.

He was also convicted in 1979 for his role in a Texas marijuana smuggling case and was sentenced to 4 years in jail.

Tragically, for Julia Scyphers and her family, her murder was never prosecuted  due to the death of the chief witness.  But the primary suspect just happened to be a friend of Kimberlin, one of the nine men arrested in the “Texas pot bombing”.   Sheer coincidence or rotten bad luck?  I suggest you read the entire article by R. Joseph Gelardin from the Indystar and decide for yourself.

So why this look into the past?  As Dr. Phil is fond of saying, “the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior”.  Far be it from us to psychoanalyze but it sure does look like Dr. Phil is right.  Turns out that the last year has found Aaron Walker (who blogged as “Aaron Worthing”), Patterico, Liberty Chick, and Stacy McCain targets of Brett Kimberlin because they dared to mention his criminal past or assisted others who did.

Michelle Malkin writes:

This is a convoluted, ongoing nightmare that combines abuse of the court system, workplace intimidation, serial invasions of privacy, perjury, and harassment of family members. McCain was forced to move with his family out of his house this week, and has just gotten a small taste of what Aaron and Patterico have been enduring over the past year. Aaron and his wife were fired from their jobs after their employer feared the office would be targeted next. Convicted bomber Kimberlin has filed bogus “peace orders” against Aaron, when it is the Walkers who are the victims, not the perpetrators.

And Patterico’s plight will send chills up your spine when he is ready to tell it.

Institutional inertia, incompetence, and apathy among law enforcement officials on both coasts have exacerbated the victims’ suffering. It has moved far beyond a partisan or political story to a bottomless, Kafka-esque morass. And, via investigative journalist Matthew Vadum, it certainly doesn’t help that “progressive,” left-wing foundations that have funded Kimberlin continue to look the other way.

Ted Frank at Point of Law summed it up: “A scary tale of what can go wrong if one makes the wrong enemy of someone willing to persistently abuse the civil and criminal legal system, and how poorly the legal system protects those victims.”

It is an utter disgrace that anyone should be subject to this kind of abuse.  It is stereotypically shameful that the progressive left not only funds someone who deliberately seeks to keep the truth from coming out but continues to support them by their lack of either condemnation or withdrawal of monetary support now that the whole story is coming to light.

And it ain’t no small potatoes:

“Speedway Bomber” Brett Kimberlin … is a director and founder of the Justice Through Music Project, a seven year old Bethesda, Maryland-based 501c3 nonprofit entity….
Kimberlin is the business partner of leftist blogger Brad Friedman … They are both involved with a group called Velvet Revolution which also receives funding from the Tides Foundation.
JTMP has received at least $70,000 in grants from the far-left Tides Foundation since 2006.
Another noteworthy donor is … Barbra Streisand who has given JTMP at least $10,000 through her Barbra Streisand Foundation since 2006…
Yet another is Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Sen. John Kerry (D-Massachusetts). Mrs. Kerry is CEO of the Heinz Family Foundation which has given JTMP at least $20,000 since 2006…”

As Patterico puts it:

…this isn’t about dredging up a crime that happened 34 years ago. Kimberlin has done plenty since then. He made claims about selling pot to Dan Quayle — claims that the lefty author of a book about Kimberlin believes are false. He deceptively avoided paying a wrongful death judgment to the widow of the man he blew up. He sued a small-time blogger in 2011 for telling the truth about him, and made several false statements about his history under oath in an effort to win a large cash judgment. He made several provably false statements regarding his encounter with Aaron Walker, in an effort to get the State of Maryland to prosecute Walker. He has regularly defamed, harassed, and stalked people who criticized him.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, folks.

The obvious question is why haven’t these latest legal attacks by Kimberlin been reported in the lamestream media?  We all know the answer.  Attacks against conservatives aren’t news since shutting down the free speech of conservatives is key to the progressive liberal agenda and, like Brett Kimberlin and his associates, the lamestream media depends on funding from the left.

But that doesn’t get the State’s Attorney of Montgomery County, Maryland off the hook.  Just what the hell is wrong with John McCarthy, the State’s Attorney, that he is allowing this to happen?

State’s Attorney for Montgomery County
50 Maryland Avenue, 5th Floor
Rockville, Maryland 20850
states.attorney@montgomerycountymd.gov.
240-777-7300

Bottom line:  How would YOU feel if a convicted bomber made threats – more particularly false threats – against you or your family?  Brett Kimberlin and his progressive liberal backers need to be shut down.

Sunshine is the best disinfectant and the truth shall set you free.  Follow the links.  Spread the word as Michelle Malkin says:

“More. Louder. Bolder.”

 UPDATES

What has been done by Kimberlin and/or his associates (he seems to have a way of getting others to do his dirty work for him) to Patterico may be a federal crime.

For a full look at the havoc created by allowing abuse of our legal system can create, read Aaron Walker’s account of what Kimberlin is doing to him.

“No Más Pantalones”?

I say no, no pants.  But this one sure has legs.

Breitbart has broken the story about President Lame Duck’s biography as written by his literary agency:

Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.  The son of an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, he attended Columbia University and worked as a financial journalist and editor for Business International Corporation.   He served as project coordinator in Harlem for the New York Public Interest Research Group, and was Executive Director of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago’s South Side. His commitment to social and racial issues will be evident in his first book, Journeys in Black and White.

The problem here isn’t necessarilyhis claim of Kenyan birth, that still remains to be truly and properly proved or not.  The problem is that it is yet another example of this insufferable man’s never-ending lies.

Interestingly, one of President Lame Duck’s coworkers wrote about their working at Business International Corporation, essentially telling the world in 2005 that the then-new Illinois Senator had “embellished” his resume.  Which, of course, means that like with his composite girlfriend, BO played fast and loose with what he actually did for a living, too.

All of this demonstrating a pattern, and not a good pattern at that.

Breitbart.com attempted to contact the woman who edited the 1991 pamphlet but:

Miriam Goderich, who has since become Dystel’s partner at Dystel & Goderich, an agency founded in 1994. Breitbart News attempted to reach Goderich by telephone several times over several days. Her calls are screened by an automated service that requires callers to state their name and company, which we did. She never answered.

Are we at all surprised to learn that instead of nipping this in the bud by calling Breitbart.com, Ms. Goderich instead sent an email to a client of Dystel & Goderich in which she confesses to having made a youthful “mistake”?  (A mistake, it may be noted, that was not caught until 2007, when BO began campaigning for the presidency.)

“You’re undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya.  This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me — an agency assistant at the time.  There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii.  I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.”

Cue the flying pigs.

Are You Better Off Now Than You Were In 2008?

May 6, 2012 By Joan of Snark

It’s the question at the heart of this year’s presidential election:  “Are you better off than you were in 2008?”

The answer is, of course, no.  At least it’s no unless you’re an Obama or one of their “inner circle”; you know, all those affirmative action winners.

I was thinking about this question yesterday and, personally, I was quickly able to come up with the following.  As Obama prepared to take office:

  •  I was paying around $1.50 for a gallon of gasoline.  Just this past Friday, I paid $3.79/gallon; a 152% increase in cost.
  • At the end of December 2008 I had over 20% equity in my home.  Today my mortgage is underwater by 25% or a net investment loss of 45%.
  • The monthly budget-plan gas bill for my home was $110; today it is $124 or an 11% increase in cost.
  • The monthly cable/internet bill was around $90; today it is $118.00 or a 31% increase in cost.
  • A standard order from one supplier cost $112; today that same order costs $164 or 46% more.
  • A 3-pound bag of shelled walnuts cost under $10; the other day the same bag cost nearly $20 or twice as much.

My income, on the other hand, has increased by some 3% annually, though I pay more each year towards my employer-provided health care plan so the net increase is correspondingly less.  And while I’m extremely grateful to have a good job that I really enjoy, when the average cost of things has gone up over 60% since Obama took office, there is no way to say my life is any better now.

And there are millions of Americans sharing the same leaky boat in which I find myself; most of whom want nothing more than for this behemoth of government to slink back under the slimy rock from which it crawled and let us get on with the business of pursuing our own happiness instead of being forced to work hard so the politicos latest pet “victims” don’t have to.

Media Madly Manipulates Martin Murder

March 25, 2012 By Joan of Snark

It’s always horrible news that a 17-year old is dead.  For parents, it doesn’t matter why; it’s just never right to have to bury your own child.  So my heart goes out to the parents of Trayvon Martin.

But at the same time, I find my hackles raised by those using this young man’s death as a reason to continue to play the race card when heinous black-on-white crimes are only local news at best.  Truth be told, humans are rather a herd animal and it is an inherent survival instinct to profile in one way or another; no species can survive without using visual clues to ascertain friend vs. a foe who’ll eat you for lunch.  So unless it happens every day, a black man walking through a predominently white neighborhood is simply going to be noticed, just as a white man walking through a predominently black neighborhood will be noticed.  We’re hard-wired to pay attention to something that is different in our immediate environment but if we are to believe we’re really better than “animals” then it behooves us to put common sense to work when something does catch our eye and appears to be out of place.

That means I’m not going to be defending George Zimmerman’s actions here.  We are a nation that was founded on belief in the rule of law, not the rule of man and I will let the law do its job and investigate fully what happened last month.  That also means that  the bounty being collected and vigilantes being encouraged to go to Sanford, Florida by the New Black Panther Party and bring back Zimmerman “dead or alive”, Spike Lee’s tweet of Zimmerman’s home address and the thousands of ugly tweets calling for Zimmerman’s lynching, all being encouraged by the likes of Al Sharpton and even President Lame Duck are not only blatantly hypocritical, they are  absolutely wrong and I personally condemn them.

But you won’t get condemnation of black vigilantes or any encouragement for the rule of law from the lamestream media; they continue to do nothing but support racial divisiveness, starting with the first media reports noting Zimmerman as a “white Hispanic” instead of simply “Hispanic”.   And posting only a photo of Martin as a child instead of one more recent.  And forgetting to mention that Martin was 250 miles from home because he’d been suspended from school and although the father he was visiting claims he’d grounded his son because of whatever wrong behavior got him suspended, he was out on the street after buying treats while visiting his father’s fiancee and her son.

No, no.  No real reporting.  Just fluff and nonsense like last Friday evening when the ABC Evening News aired what might, if one wanted to be polite, be termed a “human interest” story related to the Sanford incident:  they interviewed an obviously middle-class black mother who told the reporter that she “always” tells her sons to act like what amounts to little more than a civilized human being when they go out in public.  To whit, pull your hood off when you go into a store (“remove your hat” in the “old days”), carry your purchases in a bag, be polite.  We called these things simple manners when I was growing up and god bless the woman for teaching it to her sons today.   The problem is that in a desperate attempt to appear somehow relevant, the lamestream media presents this wholly appropriate kind of parenting by a black mother as somehow “wrong” or “shameful” despite the fact that thousands of mothers of every race do the same thing with their sons and daughters every day.

Frankly, it is ABC and every other lamestream media hack that ought to be ashamed.  But that’ll happen about the time pigs fly.

To put what so many mothers say into plain English, if you want to dress like a “gansta” and slouch around on MY streets, you can bet that ass deliberately hanging out of your low-slung pants that I’m going to take notice and I’m not going to be pleased to see you.  For while self-expression is a fine thing, if you deliberately make the choice to identify with misogynists, thieves, gangbangers and murderers and to go out in public dressed the part, you will be labeled and treated as such when you show up where the majority do not make that same choice.  Should you really be a good kid with good parents, I sure hope your mama whips your butt for being such an embarrassment when you get home.

Taking Stock, Lock and Barrel

November 27, 2011 By Joan of Snark

Three years after President Lame Duck’s election, even his staunchest supporters are starting to see that something is very rotten in Denmark.  Failed policy after failed policy combined with a jet-setting lifestyle that even Marie Antoinette would envy have sent the children into the streets in protest and while the administration thought perhaps this would be their moment to tip the balance of derisive sentiment spreading across the land, the children’s exhibition of the fruits of modern progressive liberal public education have only backfired as it quickly became obvious they are as clueless, as greedy and as uncouth as their former messiah.

How do you spell failure?  Let us count the ways.  First and foremost and worst of all there is “Fast & Furious”; that covert little gun-running operation with no intention other than to somehow bassackwardly prove that the 2nd Amendement is a bad thing.  But like most guns in the hands of a complete moron, it wasn’t pointed in the right direction and Obama and Holder have American blood on their hands after Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was gunned down by a Mexican drug dealer hunting Border Patrol agents using a gun the administration forced a gun shop owner to sell illegally.

The Department of Justice’s attempts to stonewall the Congressional investigation into “Fast & Furious”, along with Holder’s inability to accept the responsibility that comes with the authority of his position during hearings into the matter have done nothing to endear them to anyone with even a shred of common sense.

It doesn’t help that the lamestream media continues to punt on anything that might raise an eyebrow among rank and file Americans.  To whit, the man who used his companies to back Obama’s first steps into politics in 1995 and then continued with major support that even includes a “helping” the Obamas buy property in Chicago (Rezko’s wife purchased and then resold a side yard to the Obama’s home they could not afford initially), Tony Rezko, was just this week sentenced to 10-1/2 years in prison for corruption and extortion.  Let us not forget that Rezko has spent the last 3 years sitting in prison after his 2008 conviction on 16 fraud and attempted bribery counts.  Exactly the kind of friend we all want, right?  NewsBusters has a nice rundown on the media sidestep.

Then there is the “green jobs” waste of taxpayer money.  First it was Obama’s much-touted poster-child Solyndra with the administration’s first energy loan of $535 million.  It is now being revealed that the whole thing was nothing more than political payback, with the DOE going so far as to “…push very hard for us to hold our announcement of the consolidation to employees and vendors to Nov. 3rd [2010] – oddly they didn’t give a reason for that date.”

I’ll give you three guesses why any announcement of Solyndra’s spectacular failure would be better made on November 3, 2010 and the first two don’t count.

But Solyndra is just the tip of that pesky little global-warming iceberg.  At the end of the last month word came out that yet another “green” company, Beacon, was also going under on the taxpayer’s dime.  They received a $43 million Energy Department loan guarantee issued in August 2010 and they also received $29 million in grants from the U.S. and Pennsylvania.

Now even Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill (MO) is getting into the act.  But while such an outright and overt defection of the woman once thought a possible VP running mate for President Lame Duck may raise some eyebrows, it’s no surprise that the administration’s recent $433-million contract with Democratic donor, Siga-controlling shareholder Ronald O. Perelman’s pharmaceutical company for an unapproved, experimental smallpox drug smells just as bad.

[box] “Siga was offered the sole contract for the drug without the government seeking out any competition from fellow pharmaceutical companies. The United States currently has $1 billion worth of smallpox vaccines on the ready, which is more than enough to aid the entire country in case of an epidemic. While the experimental drug, ST-246, has yet to be proved effective, it has also yet to be evaluated or approved by the FDA and is being purchased at a whopping $255 per pill.”[/box]

Of course, McCaskill is up for reelection in 2012 so her motivation is less than noble.  But if the elected progressive liberal hacks have become willing to point out the stench with which they have surrounded themselves, it ought to bode nothing but well for the conservative cause.

Until you remember that there are still people like David Axelrod running around free.  And the “dirty politics” that make Chicago famous are already in full display with the recent Herman Cain sexual harrassment allegations.  Ann Coulter connected the dots recently in a piece for Townhall:

[box]”…both Axelrod and Daley have a history of smearing political opponents by digging up claims of sexual misconduct against them.

John Brooks, Chicago’s former fire commissioner, filed a lawsuit against Daley six months ago claiming Daley threatened to smear him with sexual harassment accusations if Brooks didn’t resign. He resigned — and the sexual harassment allegations were later found to be completely false.

Meanwhile, as extensively detailed in my book “Guilty: Liberal ‘Victims’ and Their Assault on America,” the only reason Obama became a U.S. senator — allowing him to run for president — is that David Axelrod pulled sealed divorce records out of a hat, first, against Obama’s Democratic primary opponent, and then against Obama’s Republican opponent.

One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, Obama was way down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader.

But then The Chicago Tribune — where Axelrod used to work — began publishing claims that Hull’s second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings.

From then until Election Day, Hull was embroiled in fighting the allegation that he was a “wife beater.” He and his ex-wife eventually agreed to release their sealed divorce records. His first ex-wife, daughters and nanny defended him at a press conference, swearing he was never violent. During a Democratic debate, Hull was forced to explain that his wife kicked him and he had merely kicked her back.

Hull’s substantial lead just a month before the primary collapsed with the nonstop media attention to his divorce records. Obama sailed to the front of the pack and won the primary. Hull finished third with 10 percent of the vote.

Luckily for Axelrod, Obama’s opponent in the general election had also been divorced.

The Republican nominee was Jack Ryan, a graduate of Dartmouth and Harvard law and business schools, who had left his lucrative partnership at Goldman Sachs to teach at an inner-city school on the South Side of Chicago.

But in a child custody dispute some years earlier, Ryan’s ex-wife, Hollywood sex kitten Jeri Lynn Ryan, had alleged that, while the couple was married, Jack had taken her to swingers clubs in Paris and New York.

Jack Ryan adamantly denied the allegations. In the interest of protecting their son, he also requested that the records be put permanently under seal.

Axelrod’s courthouse moles obtained the “sealed” records and, in no time, they were in the hands of every political operative in Chicago. Knowing perfectly well what was in the records, Chicago Tribune attorneys flew to California and requested that the court officially “unseal” them — over the objections of both Jack and Jeri Ryan.

Your honor, who knows what could be in these records!

A California judge ordered them unsealed, which allowed newspapers to publish the salacious allegations, and four days later, Ryan dropped out of the race under pressure from idiot Republicans (who should be tracked down and shot).

With a last-minute replacement of Alan Keyes as Obama’s Republican opponent, Obama was able to set an all-time record in an Illinois Senate election, winning with a 43 percent margin.

And that’s how Obama became a senator four years after losing a congressional race to Bobby Rush. (In a disastrous turn of events, Rush was not divorced.)

Axelrod destroyed the only two men who stood between Obama and the Senate with illicitly obtained, lurid allegations from their pasts.

In 2007, long after Obama was safely ensconced in the U.S. Senate, The New York Times reported: “The Tribune reporter who wrote the original piece (on Hull’s sealed divorce records) later acknowledged in print that the Obama camp had ‘worked aggressively behind the scenes’ to push the story.”

Some had suggested, the Times article continued, that Axelrod had “an even more significant role — that he leaked the initial story.”

This time, Obama’s little helpers have not only thrown a bomb into the Republican primary, but are hoping to destroy the man who deprives the Democrats of their only argument in 2012: If you oppose Obama, you must be a racist.”[/box]

Frankly, I think things are going to get far worse before they begin to get better.  With the collapse of the euro now being seen as imminent, judging by reports coming out of the UK that their “Foreign Office is preparing contingency plans to help expats from the Costa del Sol and the Algarve who could be stranded without cash – or caught up in riots and civil unrest” the ripple effect combined with the propensity for violent rioting by those denied their self-perceived and government-encouraged entitlements will certainly reach across the pond (as evidenced by the Euro-copycat OWS).  As one pithy comment put it,

[box]”at least europe is warning its people. Here we just continue to give people handouts from tbe bottomless piggy bank of china. As beck would say, how many warnings do you need?  If you are not prepping at this point, talk to your family about the quickest route to the superdome. Let them know they will be safe there. Also tell them that youre an idiot and apologize for being their parents.”[/box]

There is hope, of course, since the majority of Americans are really conservative and rather moderate; it is the minority located in the progressive liberal bastions of the major cities, particularly on our coasts, who pose the greatest threat.  But that threat can be mitigated by a concerted effort to oust Democrats and those Republicans from any and every elected office from dog catcher to local sheriff to President if they are merely a hack and not willing to uphold the Constitution.

It is also extremely imperative to vote in the upcoming presidential primary.  If you really don’t want someone with questionable conservative values like Romney as the GOP 2012 candidate, get to the polls and vote for the candidate you want.  But then support the eventual choice with everything you’ve got because, OMG – Obama Must Go.

What Is The Value Of A Unit Over 70?

Today is the day Americans give thanks; thanks for the bounty of blessings made possible by freedom.  While out driving this evening I was listening to the Mark Levin show and sit here now giving thanks that in just less than one year we still have one more chance to get rid of the blight of progressive liberalism that threatens to destroy this beloved country.

One of Mark’s callers tonight was a brain surgeon.  A brain surgeon who recently attended a seminar in Washington, D.C.; a gathering of highly-trained medical colleagues who were apparently given a preview of coming Obamacare attractions by the Department of Health & Human Services.

What this doctor calmly laid out was chilling.  Should you or a loved one find yourself experiencing a stroke or other such serious, life-threatening neurological event and are rushed to the emergency room, unless you are less than 70 years old you can forget about receiving anything more than “comfort care” unless the “ethics panel” from whom your neurosurgeon must request permission to do anything else decides that your value as a “unit” is worth the expense.

Even if it’s 2 a.m.

Yes, Virginia; Sarah Palin was right.  “Death panels” are actively being developed even as you read these words; though from the sound of it we, the people, conveniently aren’t supposed to hear about it until after the election.

You don’t have to be a brain surgeon to know this is wrong.

Dead wrong.

As the great unwashed masses take to the streets to loudly lament the fact they are facing the consequences of their coddling and therefore bad choices and demanding that others fix it for them, we throught we’d compare their…errr…whatever with what the now-fawning, slavering lamestream media has barely covered and only then with great derision:  the Tea Party.

There are certainly more examples than this and, knowing the progressive liberal mindset, more to come.  But here is a start.

The Tea Party

The Flea Party

Is paid to work Is paid to protest
Has sex in the bedroom Has sex in the street
Uses a bathroom as intended Eliminates wherever; including on cars and in the street
Pays taxes Lives off taxes
Expects to earn a promotion by working hard Expects to start at the top
Gives to charity Lives off charity
Takes out only a mortgage they can repay Defaults on a mortgage above their ability to repay
Pays off credit debt Declares bankruptcy to avoid paying credit debt
Protects the unborn Protects convicted child rapists and murderers
Considers having a cell phone a nicety Considers having a cell phone a right
Respects government property Defaces government property
Obtains permits for public protests Demands taxpayer resources for protests
Protests on public property Trespasses to protest on private property
Proudly displays the American flag Burns the flag and/or demands it be removed from display
Heroes include Washington, Jefferson, Franklin Heroes include Mao, Guevara, and the Communist Party
Supports the 1st Amendment Exercises 1st Amendment right to make a fool out of themselves in public
Supports the 2nd Amendment Demands death for those with whom they disagree
Believes in small, limited government Believes government knows best

9/11: Islam Comes Out Of The Closet

September 11, 2011 By Joan of Snark

As I write this, those astonishing, gut-wrenching moments after the first plane hit the World Trade Center in New York had just begun.  Personally, I was almost home after being told that morning’s meeting had been abruptly cancelled and I should not come into the office but instead return straight home and await further word.

Like for so many of us, the horrors of the next hour unfolded within the confines of my television screen; this was the stuff of which movies are made but the relentless news reports turned our world upside-down and pounded home the realization that while this was the stuff conjured by twisted, hateful minds, there would be no escape by turning off the television.  This was our new and surreal reality.  The ancient war between Christian and Muslim had come out of the closet and the cheering in the streets of the Middle East at the deaths of so many innocents could naught but seal the fate of modern Islam for all who cherish liberty.

Today, as memories that always lurk just below the surface needfully come to the fore, I cannot imagine America’s fate had the current administration been in place.  While it is true that GW had many faults, on 9/11 he stepped up in his role as leader of the greatest nation ever known to mankind and the comfort he provided then remains even now.  It was not in him as an American patriot to bow to the tyranny that Islam hides behind a guise of religious clothing; it was not in him as an American patriot to blame America for her strength, her wealth, her goodness born of allowing people to live freely.  And on that day he represented Americans as we would properly be represented:  with liberty and justice for all under the rule of law, not the rule of man.

There are many who will write with more eloquence of the events of this day; many will be the tears shed yet again as we attempt to heal a wound that can never be healed.  Many will speak of the loss of American innocence on that awful day but I would put forth that our innocence was already long gone by 9/11 and instead it was on that day as the Twin Towers fell in New York that those fundamental things that would make the United States a force to be reckoned with back in 1776 began to rise in a national consciousness willingly beaten down by the selfish lies of the progressive liberal ideology.  That we had so lost our way we elected an inexperienced, unvetted socialist as president in 2008 and filled Congress with communist sympathizers was our healing crisis; much like when an abscess finally bursts and the putrid pus becomes visible so has the antithesis to the dreams of the Founders reared its ugly head and now rushes along out in the open, hell-bent on destroying our lives.

In November 2010 we took a first swipe at that sticky oozing.  If we would truly honor those who died on 9/11, particularly those on United Airlines Flight 93 who looked the evil that is Islam in its eyes over the fields of Pennsylvania and chose to sacrifice themselves to protect the rest of us simply because they believed in an America as put forth by the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution, we will dig out the core of the abscess in November 2012 and thereby begin proper restoration of the Republic.

God bless all of those who died on this day in 2001.

God bless the United States of America.
